Local Event Information Join Us on Saturday, September 19, 2009 for the annual Easter Seals Walk With Me event in Rockford at the Rock River Recreational Path! The day begins with registration at 7:30 a.m. Before the 2-2.5 mile walk starts at 8:30 a.m., meet our Honorary Ambassador and enjoy refreshments and an early morning stretch! Once you’ve crossed the finish line, we invite you, your team, and guests to sit back, relax and enjoy the festivities, refreshments, music and dancing to celebrate the day! There is ample parking available at the adjacent YMCA building. The Walk With Me event raises money so that we can put HOPE within reach for people with disabilities. This is the time to join hundreds of others like you who are committed to helping others while enjoying a celebration of teamwork, fun, inspiration and sharing. So…. Lace up those shoes, and we look forward to walking with you!

Whether you walk as an individual or a team, you will be partnered with an Easter Seals Honorary Ambassador -- an Easter Seals client from your community. Your support helps make it possible for Easter Seals to provide opportunities for people with disabilities to live with equality, dignity and independence.

Walk to increase disability awareness
Easter Seals Walk With Me provides the opportunity to meet people with a disability, and learn about each person's abilities -- not just their disabilities -- and the obstacles that might get in the way of their independence.
