Local Event Information You’ve just taken the first step toward making a difference in the life of someone with a disability! We need YOU! Walk With Me Austin is Sunday, December 6, 2009. Please join us at The Domain for fun, food and Easter Seals Central Texas’ first Walk With Me festival! It promises to be a great day for friends and families to get together and Walk for and with fellow Central Texans with disabilities such as Autism. Walk as an individual or create your own team. All are welcome! The day will begin promptly at 7 a.m. with registration and festivities for the 1.5 mile fun walk! The walk itself will kick off at 9 a.m. Proceeds from the walk go to support programs for people with disabilities. During registration walkers will be able to meet all of the Walk’s Honorary Ambassadors as well as Easter Seals Central Texas 2009 Child Representative Dylan Gernert! Dylan is an energetic playful three year old who benefited greatly from Easter Seals Early Childhood Intervention services. Just one of the many programs we provide to our ever growing community. Whether you walk as an individual or a team, you will be partnered with an Easter Seals Honorary Ambassador -- an Easter Seals client from your community. Your support helps make it possible for Easter Seals to provide opportunities for people with disabilities to live with equality, dignity and independence.

Easter Seals Walk With Me provides the opportunity to meet people with a disability, and learn about each person's abilities -- not just their disabilities -- and the obstacles that might get in the way of their independence.
