Local Event Information It’s that time of year again...time to begin planning and preparing for Easter Seals’ 5th Annual Walk With Me event! Join us for an evening of family fun, fitness and a bit of "animal behavior" all while raising funds for individuals with disabilities for Easter Seals. On the evening of Wednesday, June 17, 2009 join us at the beautiful John Ball Park and Zoo as we walk to raise funds for life-changing therapies! Pre event, all participants will have an opportunity to meet handsome 10-year old Joseph, Easter Seals - Michigan’s 2009 Child Ambassador, and his family, as well as our other Honorary Walk With Me Ambassadors. Hear from them and their families about the positive impact Easter Seals has had in their lives. On-Site registrations begins at 5:00 p.m. Based on input from previous year’s walkers, food, refreshments and festivities will occur before the walk. The Walk will be kicked off by the sponsors and ambassadors at 6:30. Walkers will circle the perimeter of John Ball Park and in and through the zoo. After the Walk, you are invited to stay and enjoy the zoo for a private after hour event where the zoo will be open for Walkers and their families. A minimum of $25 is the fee to participate in the Walk (excluding children). This fee can be a personal donation or raised by personal fund-raising. For that nominal fee, you receive a Walk With me T-Shirt, food, refreshments and your own private pass to the zoo for the evening. John Ball Park and Zoo is conveniently located at 1300 Fulton Street, West - only five minutes from downtown Grand Rapids. Parking for the event is free and easy...you simply park in the zoo parking lot and head over to the registration area just outside the zoo entrance. Whether you walk as an individual or a team, you will be partnered with an Easter Seals Honorary Ambassador -- an Easter Seals client from your community. Your support helps make it possible for Easter Seals to provide opportunities for people with disabilities to live with equality, dignity and independence.
