| Meet your Honorary Ambassadors |
When you register for Walk With Me, you won't just receive the typical race number, wristband or t-shirt. You will be partnered with an Easter Seals honorary ambassador, a person with a disability who has benefited from Easter Seals services. You'll get to know your ambassador through photos and personal stories. And on event day, you'll even have the chance to meet your honorary ambassador!
Walk with Joseph
Meet Joseph...Joseph received a diagnosis of ADHD at six years old.
Mom, Theressa shares, "Joseph controlled our home, limiting activities we could do as a family. He wasn’t cooperative and his outbursts were unbearable. Joseph demanded one-on-one attention."
When Joseph began receiving services at Easter Seals, the family learned that he also had Aspergers Syndrome, along with his ADHD diagnosis. Home visits by Easter Seals’ therapist for two hours a week, along with respite care, began and continues today.
Joseph’s medications have been adjusted, and his inappropriate impulsive behavior had decreased. Mom continues, "Easter Seals gave me an understanding of my child’s behavior and the tools to aid with his behavior. He is one of the sweetest kids and he loves everyone! His impulses have calmed down and his confidence has increased. My child is happier than before. Thank you Easter Seals."
