Meet your Honorary Ambassadors

When you register for Walk With Me, you won't just receive the typical race number, wristband or t-shirt. You will be partnered with an Easter Seals honorary ambassador, a person with a disability who has benefited from Easter Seals services. You'll get to know your ambassador through photos and personal stories. And on event day, you'll even have the chance to meet your honorary ambassador!

Walk with Juniper

Juniper

Hi! My name is Juniper and I have Down’s syndrome. I am 30 years old and I live with my mom. I have two brothers and one sister; two nieces and one nephew. Some of my interests are music, dancing, TV, art, and meeting new friends. I have a real flare for color. I design cards at Peaceful Valley Community Center. Making the cards has been great fun for me. Easter Seals Washington sends an Assistive Technology specialist to Peaceful Valley Community Center to help my friends and I learn to work on the computer. I hope that my new skills on the computer will help me make more greeting cards. Thank you for your support!

Walk with Beulah

Beulah Few people can appreciate the services Easter Seals provides more than Beulah, who has spent her life helping people with disabilities. For 12 years she served as Director of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Spokane, helping people overcome mobility issues associated with the disease. In fact, she remembers working with Easter Seals Assistive Technology services to help her participants reach their goals. Now 88, Beulah moved into Friendship Gardens, a retirement community located across the street from East Central Senior Center, last June. She has come full circle and is now an Easter Seals participant, receiving computer skills training from an Assistive Technology specialist. Her new skills keep her connected with colleagues, friends, and family, and allow her to remain included in the community to which she has given so much.
